Platform: Risk Assessment
Applies to: User roles, e.g. Standard and Approver
The purpose of this feature is to manage all 'actions' from a central location.
Use actions to stay on top of activities required to improve your risk assessments and/or close compliance gaps.
Note: 'Actions' encompasses Actions, Incidents, Issues, Findings, etc.
By default, the Actions and Incidents page displays only open actions. Use the Status filter to view closed actions.
New actions can be created from the Actions and Incidents page or from the Assessment Units.
Existing actions can be linked to the Risks, Controls, and Report pages of Assessment Units.
Creating an action
Creating actions on the Actions and Incidents page
- Open the Actions and Incidents page from the To Do menu
- Press the Add Details button
- Complete the details in the popup window
- Press Add to finish.
Creating actions in the Assessments
- Open the risk, control, or report in the assessment > assessment unit.
- Find the Actions section and use the:
- New button (
) to create a new action; or
- Link button (
) to link to an existing action
- New button (
- Complete the details in the popup window
- Press Add or Save to finish.
Completing or editing the action details
- Title - enter a title
- Description - enter a description, such as the action required
- Resolution - enter a resolution when it is ready to be closed
- Type - select the type: Action, Finding, Incident, Issue
Note: Action types can be added, deleted and edited in Dropdown Configuration. - Status - set a status; defaults to Open.
- Created - displays the creation date and creator; cannot be edited
- Priority - set the priority; defaults to Low.
- Owner - set an owner; the owner is sent reminder notification emails
- Due Date - select a due date
- Related links - displays the risks, controls, and/or reports it is linked to
- Comments - additional space for extra commentary
- Attachments - attach files or enter URLs
Working with actions
Find specific actions using the Search function or the column filters on the Actions and Issues page.
Functions available for Actions:
- Export to CSV: Use the Export button (
) above the table to export all actions to CSV.
- Edit: Use the Edit button (
) in the Action column to open and edit the Action Details.
- Delete: Open the action menu (
) and select Delete to delete the action. This is irreversible.
- View audit: Open the action menu (
) and select Audit Trail.
