FAQ: Can an approved risk or control be reopened if the original approver is unavailable?

Question

• Can an approved risk or control be reopened if the original approver is unavailable?
• We are trying to reopen some risks that were approved by an approver... is it possible?
• How to reopen controls that have been approved?

Answer

Only the original approver can reopen the risk or control they approved.

If the original approver has left the company, someone else will need to log into the platform as that user. If their password for the platform is not known an option may be to trigger a password reset and have the reset email redirected to someone who can reset the password and log in to reopen the risk or control.

Risks and controls that have been approved cannot be edited, so it is not possible to change the approver of the risk/control after that approval has happened as a workaround.
