Question
After changing the name of a control, the new control name does not appear in:
- Existing programs
- Programs created by copying programs using the old control name
Is this by design?
Answer
This is by design to protect historical data integrity.
The new name of the control appears in the Add Controls popup window.
The new name is used when the updated control is added to a risk factor.
However, any pre-existing programs will continue to show the original name of the control as at the time it was added to the risk factors. The original name will also be copied when you copy the program to create a new one.
Therefore, if you want the new control name to appear in pre-existing programs or programs copied from programs that display the previous control name, you must remove and re-add that control to the relevant risk factors.
