The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) gathers and releases crime data covering state-level crime data and county-level data in the United States. In order to understand the location of your business and assess your location crime risk, please follow the following steps:
- Go to the FBI uniform crime reporting page HERE and select your state, metropolitan and nonmetropolitan county to view the the number of offenses reported by the sheriff's office or county police department.]
- For Deceptive Crimes and Illicit Trafficking, go to the Federal Crime Data page HERE and download table 3 (FBI Number of Arrestees by NIBRS Offenses Code, by FBI Field Office) and compare your data to the national crime level HERE
- In AMLA, we assess the risk level of four types of predicate offenses: Deceptive Crime, Illicit Trafficking, Personal Crimes and Property Crimes. You can use the relevant US crime data to assess your risk level:
