Security Tips
Here are 6 things you can do to help keep your account safe:
- Pick a strong password. Use a combination of at least six numbers, letters and punctuation marks. It should be different from other passwords you use elsewhere on the internet.
- Change your password regularly, especially if you see a message from AML Accelerate asking you to do so
- Never give your password to someone you don't know and trust.
- Make sure your email account is secure. Anyone who can read your email can probably also access your account. Change the passwords for all of your email accounts and make sure that no two are the same.
- Log out of AML Accelerate when you use a computer or phone you share with other people. Don't check the "Remember Me" box when logging in from a public computer, as this will keep you logged in even after you close the browser window.
- Think before you authorise any third-party app.
User Access and Security
WHAT IS USER ACCESS SECURITY?
User access security refers to the collective procedures by which authorised users access a computer system and unauthorised users are kept from doing so. To make this distinction a little more realistic, however, understand that user access security limits even authorised users to those parts of the system that they are explicitly permitted to use (which, in turn, is based on their "need-to-know").
While there is no question that an organisation has the right to protect its computing and information resources through user access security activities, users (whether authorised or not) have rights as well. Reasonable efforts must be made to inform all users, even uninvited hackers, that the system is being monitored and that unauthorised activity will be punished and/or prosecuted as deemed appropriate.
WHAT TYPES OF USER ACCESS ROLES EXIST IN THE AML/CFT PROGRAM PLATFORM?
Our AML/CFT Platform Manual has two types of user access roles:
- Security Roles
- Application Roles
The next section describes how each works.
SECURITY ROLES
There are three types of security roles; Super Admin, Company Admin and End User.
Super Admin
There are a number of functions that are only available to AML Accelerate as the overall administrators of our solutions including:
- Discount Management
- Trial Management
- Compliance Rating Management
- Reference Document Management
This role is typically used to managing the 'out-of-the-box' settings that all users see as the starting point when they first register for access to our platforms.
Company Admin
Typically, each company will appoint a Company Admin user which is usually the person that has registered for the account in the first place.
The Company Admin has a number of General Settings available to them including renewals, and user management.
Further information is provided within the Knowledge Base under General Settings.
End User
There are many end user roles associated with a Company Admin account which are typically initiated by the Company Admin user that has purchased a license online and invited end users across the organisation via the Account Management function above.
Once invited into the system by the Company Admin user, the end user will be required to confirm the auto-generated email and enter a new password.
APPLICATION ROLES
Within the Security Management feature there are two primary functions that are controlled by Company Admin users:
Application Role Management
This feature allows the Company Admin to define any number of roles and assign the application functionality that is visible or hidden from the End Users based on the role(s) that they have been assigned, as well as, which application functionality is enabled or disabled from editing etc.
User Security Management
This feature allows the Company Admin to define the application role(s) that are applicable to End Users.
Further information is provided within the Knowledge Base under General Settings.
